Nikon Camera Problems – Is My Nikon Digital Camera Really Broken?

Some Nikon digital camera models have what Nikon calls “monitor” buttons, which turn the LCD on and off. Find your model’s monitor button and press it; perhaps the LCD is switched off. Also, most Nikon cameras have a power saving mode in which the camera powers down the LCD after a couple of minutes of inactivity. Should this happen too often for the liking, consider turning from the power saving mode or lengthening how long before the power saving mode starts.
LCD is not easily viewed. If the LCD is too dim, with some Nikon models, you are able to increase the brightness from the LCD. Some LCDs, due to glare, can be challenging to determine in direct sunlight. Try using your free hand to shield LCD screen from the direct sun, or try turning your body to avoid getting the sun shine about the LCD. Finally, when the LCD is dirty or smudged, clean it having a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
The camera won’t record photos when the shutter button is pushed. Make sure the selector dial is considered select a photo recording mode, as opposed to a playback mode or perhaps a video recording mode. (Talk to your user guide if you fail to decipher the labels on the selector dial.) Make sure you have enough electric batteries to shoot photos; a nearly drained battery may not be in a position to operate the camera properly. If the memory card or internal memory is full or nearly full, your camera is probably not able to save the photo. Occasionally, your camera won’t be able to record photos since the camera already has 999 photos in memory. Some types of Nikon cameras cannot store more than 999 photos at one time.
